This is a vintage original poster for The Beatles third movie Magical Mystery Tour. This movie was created as a 1967 TV special by the BBC in Great Britain. While the Magical Mystery Tour album was a commercial and critical success, the movie was filmed in black and white and basically bombed both times it was shown on British television by the BBC.

Because the movie performed so poorly with British audiences there was little interest in releasing the movie theatrically in the United States initially but it did achieve great success as a cult film on the midnight movie and college movie circuit beginning around 1970. This poster was issued for use on that midnight movie and college movie circuit probably around 1970 and likely before Magical Mystery Tour finally got a theatrical release in the United States in 1974.

This rare poster has been professionally linen backed with some touchup and small repairs as needed. The poster was folded at one time and had some lateral creases as a result which have been addressed and mitigated with the linen backing. Pinholes on the corners, a few small nicks and short tears on the edges, and a small abraded area at the bottom center have been expertly repaired. The original owner wrote the movie title, Magical Mystery Tour, neatly in pen on the lower right hand corner of the poster. The poster displays nicely and overall condition is very good.
