This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the United States War Production Board in 1943 to help motivate factory workers engaged in producing essential wartime material on the American Home Front. This poster fits into both the Anti-Axis and Motivational genres as a factory worker complete with metal lunchbox in hand is shown punching a timeclock as behind him his shadow punches a caricature of Adolph Hitler in the face at the same time. The image is bracketed by text that reads KEEP PUNCHING…EVERY DAY suggesting that every punch of the timeclock was like socking Hitler in the face.

The lower margin indicates this poster was issued as WPB Poster No. 39 in 1943 and the artist’s name “Seaman” is signed in the image area just below the timeclock. This poster is folded as issued, has no tape or pinholes and looks pretty well unused. The colors retain their original vibrancy and overall condition is very good with just light handling wear and modest toning from age.
