This vintage original and rare poster was issued by the United States Navy Industrial Incentive Division in 1944 to help motivate American workers on the home front engaged in producing essential wartime materiel. This poster was created by the artist John Whitcomb, a prolific magazine illustrator during his civilian career and veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII who served as a combat artist at several major battles in the South Pacific.

For this poster Whitcomb renders an image of American forces landing on a beachhead amidst incoming fire and tracer rounds lighting the sky above. A U.S. Navy Dispatch issued by Rear Admiral E.L. Cochrane appears in the upper righthand corner of the image which reads:

TO ALL PRODUCERS OF LANDING CRAFT: We must send out armed forces ashore on many fronts to meet and crush the enemy. Invasion craft are needed everywhere…at once! Meet your schedules…Every beachhead won by our men depends upon boats built by you! Rear Admiral E.L. Cochrane U.S.N., Chief of the Bureau of Ships

This is an unrestored vintage original poster issued during WWII. The poster has moderate handling wear including small amounts of separation without paper loss on the center lateral fold line at each edge. The poster has single pinholes in the margin on each corner and on the edges in a couple spots. There is a small area with a light trace of staining visible in margin near to the upper lefthand corner. This poster has no tape and the colors retain the original vibrancy giving beautiful display quality.  Overall condition is very good.
