This is a vintage original 1957 cardboard window card style recruiting sign or poster issued by the U.S. Navy. This poster has an extendable easel arm on the back and features a striking Mid-Century Modern design of an Atomic Age US Navy ship which appears to be circling an image of Planet Earth.
The artist did not sign this poster but noted graphic designer Joseph Binder created a number of very similar posters for the US Navy in the 1950s and this one appears to match his style very closely so we attribute this one to him. Text on the poster reads JOIN modern mobile mighty NAVY. The date is printed in the lower margin along with “NAVPERS 35141”.
This is a vintage original cardboard window card style poster. The easel arm on the back of the poster was never extended so this was probably never used. The two lower corners have been bumped and show a bit of creasing. This poster shows otherwise just shows light handling wear and slight toning on the edges. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good.
