This colorful Mid-century travel poster was created for the National Tourist Organization of Greece by the artist Helen Perakis-Theocharis in 1954 and depicts the Bronze Age Palace of Knossos built by the Minoans. The Palace was excavated and restored in the early 20th century by a team led by British Archeologist Arthur Evans and remains the second most popular tourist destination in all of Greece today. The lower margin indicates Printed In Greece By “The Phoenix” Co. Ltd Athens and “No. 5, 10,000 – Edited By The National Tourist Organization”.

This vintage original poster was never hung and is in excellent, near perfect condition.
