This elegant poster was created by Leonard Squirrell for the British Travel and Holidays Association and features a colorful view of London’s bustling Piccadilly Circus. The lower margin is printed “Published By The British Travel And Holidays Association, And Printed In Great Britain By W.S. Cowell Ltd, Ipswich 54/47/14”. Squirrell was classically trained as an artist under the tutelage of influential British art teachers Henry Tonks and Phillip Wilson Steer and worked mostly in watercolor and pastel. This poster conveys the excitement of Piccadilly Circus in Central London at what looks like midday in the 1950s.  Red double-decker buses and sidewalks crowded with Londoners orbit Piccadilly’s Eros statue.

This poster is a vintage original which was never hung and in excellent, very clean condition.
