This striking Polish travel poster for the city of Lwow was created in the late 1920s by Stefan Norblin. The city is today part of the Ukraine and known by its Ukrainian name Lviv.  In creating the Art Deco image Norblin draws on the city’s incredible diversity of architecture that blends Old Russian, Gothic, Renaissance and Armenian styles among others. Long an important cultural center, Lwow’s geo-political history is complex with this poster produced during the interwar period when the city was part of the Second Polish Republic. The lower margin indicates Printed In Poland – Wydawnictwo Ministerstwa Komunikacji – Zact. Graf. “Bibljoteka Polska” w Bydgoszczy

This unrestored poster is a vintage original with modest toning from age, light horizontal creases in image, a short 1 cm tear in the margin on the left edge and modest handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
