This vintage original WWII poster was issued in 1944 to help promote the US Treasury Department program that encouraged newspaper delivery boys or "newsies" to sell War Savings Stamps to their route customers. This Treasury Department program was a huge success that resulted in paperboys selling almost $1.7 billion in War Saving Stamps during the war. This poster depicts and image of a newspaper boy looking admiringly at and shaking hands with an American soldier with text that reads:

Thanks Buddy! Newspaper Boys Have Sold Over 1¼ Billions War Savings Stamps Since Pearl Harbor

The lower margin is printed with a 1944 date and indicates “Official U.S. Treasury Poster”. This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and shows only light handling wear and modest toning from age and a short tear of about an inch on the bottom edge without paper loss. Overall condition is very good.
