This vintage original and rare poster was created by the artist Kenneth S. Fagg and issued by the United States Treasury in 1946 to promote the sale of U.S. Savings Bonds. This poster features an American farmer smiling broadly and giving a thumbs up as he stands in front of his farm field filled with a crop of robust looking United States Savings Bonds bracketed by text that reads THE CROP THAT NEVER FAILS – BUY U.S. SAVINGS BONDS

The poster’s artist Kenneth Fagg had a long and prolific career as a commercial artist and illustrator producing numerous magazine covers including covers for the science fiction magazine IF. Fagg was also a co-creator of the world's largest geophysical relief globe, exhibited at the 1958 Brussels World's Fair.

This vintage original poster is folded as issued and shows moderate handling wear and some toning from age to verso. The poster is free of tape and pinholes and has a few short tears on the top edge and about two inches of separation at the center vertical fold line on the top edge. The poster also has a bit of light creasing along the top edge and some creasing to the lower righthand corner. There is a bit of what looks like silverfish activity on the back of the poster near the upper left corner which has resulted in a few tiny holes showing on the front side. The colors are strong and the poster still displays quite nicely.
