This is a vintage original point-of-sale advertising sign or poster for Hy-Beaute brand Hair Dressings issued by the Hy-Beaute Chemical Company of Atlanta, Georgia. This poster features images of three different Hy-Beaute brand hair care products including Slik-Down Pomade, Hy-Beaute Smokeless Pressing Oil and Hy-Beaute Special Double Strength Hair Dressing. The Hy-Beaute Chemical Company was owned by African-American businessman James Edward Jordan and specialized in haircare and beauty products for African American consumers.

This poster isn’t dated but appears similar to ads run by the company in the early 1950s and looks to be from that same time period. This vintage original poster is a single sheet that would have probably been mounted to easel backed cardboard sheet to create a countertop retail sign. Overall condition is excellent with just light handling wear and modest toning from age.
