This is a vintage original trolly car style horizontal format poster issued in 1942 to help promote the sale of war bonds and war saving stamps. For this poster the unknown artist renders a Modern style image of a war plane flying overhead with the words Keep It Up! and Buy U.S. Bonds Stamps appearing in the image and on the underside of the airplane. This poster is printed one side only on lightweight cardboard in the format most commonly used for overhead advertising on streetcars, buses and passenger trains. This is a rare poster which we don’t trace at auction.
This poster shows moderate handling wear including a short tear or crack of about an inch on the upper edge near the right corner. The poster has small chip off the margin on the upper left hand corner and a small nick off the margin on the lower left hand corner and couple minor scuffs. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good for this rare vintage original.
