This vintage original WWII poster was created by Nebraska born artist John Falter and issued by the U.S. Navy in 1943 to help recruit construction workers for service in the Seabees. Falter renders an image from the Pacific Theater of a group of Seabees armed with rifles, including one jumping off a heavy road grader, running toward an unseen enemy. The printed across of the top and bottom of the poster reads:

Construction Workers…Build And Fight For Victory – Join The Seabees – Ask about new Volunteer Plan - Apply To Your Nearest Navy Recruiting Station – You may also volunteer for service with the Army Engineers. See your nearest Army Recruiting Station

The artist’s name John Falter USNR is signed in print in the lower image area. The date 5-12-43 is printed in the lower margin so thus the date. This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed and a small area of paper loss in the margin on the upper left hand corner has been skillfully replaced and a crease to the margin in the lower right hand corner has been mitigated. The poster has a bit of light scattered foxing in places. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good.
