This vintage original WWII poster was created by the artist Bernard Perlin and issued by the United States Treasury in 1943 to promote the sale of bonds for the Fourth War Loan. Perlin depicts a strapping American soldier reeling back to fling a hand grenade at an unseen enemy against a hellish war scene of billowing smoke and barbwire. The poster’s tagline “

Let ‘Em Have It Buy Extra War Bonds” reminds Americans that they too can strike at the enemy by buying as many war bonds as possible.

This poster was issued in different sizes and this one is the full size “one sheet” measuring about 40” x 28.5”. This is a lightly used vintage original poster showing moderate handling wear including a pinhole on each corner and about two inches of separation along the vertical center fold line without any loss of paper at both the top and bottom edge. The colors remain vibrant and overall condition is very good.
