This vintage original and rare poster was created by the artist Glenn Grohe for the Aluminum Company of America in 1943. Grohe renders an image of a civilian man tending his garden in an idyllic seaside town somewhere stateside who turns to look up at U.S. Navy PBY Catalina aircraft flying past with text that reads:

We Thank You With Our Hands…And With Our Dollars – Buy A Bond On Pearl Harbor Day! Third Naval District War Bond Office

This poster is one of several created by Alcoa during WWII to help motivate their workforce engaged in the manufacture of essential wartime materiel. A 1943 copyright by the Aluminum Company of America appears just below the illustration and Grohe’s signature appears in print just above on the right side.

This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and was probably never used. The poster shows light handling wear and has a couple small specks near the bottom and what looks like a barely noticeable fingerprint near the lower left hand corner. Overall condition is very good.
