This vintage original WWII poster was created by the artist Jon Whitcomb and issued by the U.S. Public Health Service to promote enlistment into the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. The Cadet Nursing Corps was authorized by Congress and signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1943 and operated until 1948. More than 124,000 student nurses graduated from the program and the program itself was credited with helping to alleviated acute shortages of qualified civilian nurses during World War II. Whitcomb, typical of his illustration style, depicts two glamorous nurses that look like Hollywood movie stars to help sell the nursing profession to prospective candidates.

This vintage original WWII poster looks unused and is in excellent condition almost like new with just slight toning from age and slight handling wear. The poster was issued folded and ships that way.  Overall condition is excellent.
