This vintage original WWII era poster featuring the artwork and design of German born American illustrator Wilhelm Jes Schlaikjer was issued in 1945 to help promote investment in war bonds. For this poster Schlaikjer renders and image of a haggard American soldier advance with rifle in hand somewhere in the South Pacific. The image is bracketed by text that reads Back Your Infantry! Buy extra Bonds! The lower righthand corner has the insignia of the United States Army Recruiting Publicity Bureau and indicates a 1945 publication date.
This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and shows moderate handling wear including some creasing to the tips of both lower corners. Overall condition is very good.
