This vintage original WWII era poster was issued to help promote the sale of bonds connected to the 7th War Loan which commenced shortly after Victory in Europe was declared and ran until June 30, 1945. This poster features the image civilian holding war bonds with an American soldier behind him firing a M1 carbine at an unseen enemy with text that reads They also serve, who buy WAR BONDS – 7th WAR LOAN. The artist’s appears signed in the image on the left side as Phil Lyford.
This vintage original horizontal format poster shows light handling wear including a couple short tears along the top and modest toning from age. Overall condition is very good.
