This rare window card style poster was created for the American Red Cross by the Massachusetts born artist Lawrence Wilbur. For this poster Wilbur renders an image of an Uncle Sam figure placing his hands on the shoulders of a Red Cross nurse, her hand raised as if summoning the nation to action, with text across the bottom which reads Partners in Service. This poster is very similar in design to a poster created for the Red Cross by James Montgomery Flagg in 1942. This poster isn’t dated but looks to be from that same c.1942 time period.
This poster is on lightweight cardboard and shows light handling wear and bit a slight creasing near the upper and lower corners on the right side. The colors retain the original vibrancy and overall condition is very good. We don’t locate another example of this poster either at auction or by Worldcat search.
