This is a vintage original poster was created by the prolific illustrator Frederick Sands Brunner and issued by the Red Cross during WWII. This poster was intended to promote the home nursing courses offered by the Red Cross to help alleviate the shortage of nurses created by the war. Text across the bottom of the poster, Learn To Guard The Home Front, suggests that participation in these home nursing courses was a way to contribute to the overall war effort and keep the home front safe. Brunner had a long association as an illustrator for the Ladies Home Journal and later created advertising artwork for Coca-Cola, Camel Cigarettes and other major clients.

This vintage original poster has been folded once laterally across the center and has very slight buckling along the top edge. There is a bit of light scattered foxing in the margin along the bottom edge and light handling wear. The colors remain strong and overall condition is very good.
