This vintage original WWII era poster was issued by the American Red Cross Nursing Service to help recruit nurses. The simple image is of two resolute looking nurses in Red Cross unforms below the title Uncle Sam Needs Nurses.

Both the First and Second World Wars created acute shortages of nurses on the American home front which the Red Cross helped greatly to alleviate by recruiting thousands of mostly women into the profession. The lower margin is printed “Poster No. 702”.

This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and looks unused. Overall condition is excellent.
