This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the Office of War Information as OWI Poster No. 58 in 1943 in support of the National Wartime Nutrition Program.    The image of a plate with a couple chicken bones picked clean emphasizes the poster’s message which is simple and direct – Food Is A Weapon, Don’t Waste It.   The management of the nation’s food supply was a critically important aspect of the overall war effort and was something that Americans on the home front participated in directly through Victory Gardens, rationing and other programs. 

This poster is folded as issued and in very good condition with light handling wear, a pin hole on each corner and on the right and left margins and modest toning from age.  Overall condition is very good for this vintage original which ships folded as issued.
